LOOKING FOR SOMETHING TO SINK YOUR TEETH INTO THIS WEEKEND?
A half boy/half bat creature will fly into the Tarrytown Music Hall this Friday at 8pm and Sunday at 3pm. Five students from Sleepy Hollow High School are in the show: Jake Von Heil, Gracie Clary, Nick Genua, Tomas Carraro and Johanna Rosen as well as many other talented high school and college students.
The Random Farms Kids Theater's teen company- The Edge - presents Bat Boy: The Musical. Based on a cover story in The Weekly World News (which generated the newspaper's second-highest ever sales figures), Bat Boy is a musical comedy/horror show about a human-like creature discovered in a cave near Hope Falls, West Virginia. With a score by Laurence O'Keefe, the composer of Legally Blonde, Bat Boy played on London's West End before opening off-Broadway in 2001. The play developed a cult following, similar to shows like Rocky Horror and Zombie Prom.
The performances are Friday, May 1 at 8pm and Sunday, May 3 at 3pm. The theater is located at 13 Main Street in Tarrytown. Directions can be found at http://www.tarrytownmusichall.org/. Tickets for Bat Boy are $16 (children under 12 and seniors) and $18 (adults).
To reserve seats, go to www.tarrytownmusichall.org or call 877-840-0457. Tickets will also be available at the door. Discounts are available for groups of 20 or more. For more information, visit Random Farms Kids Theater's website at http://www.randomfarms.com/.

And what a weekend it was!
As promised, this past weekend in Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow was very busy!
I started out the weekend with a DELICIOUS dinner at the new Sweet Grass Grill with my husband. The food was just awesome - full of flavor, fresh and beautifully presented.
On Saturday, I helped out as AYSO registered soccer players and volunteers for next fall and spring. TNT Baseball and Softball had their annual photo day and Wolfpack Football registered thier players ALL at WI where AYSO teams practiced on the fields.
Patriots' Park was the site of the 2nd Annual Rotary Duck Derby and the YMCA's Healthy Kids' Day. The poor folks in the duck costumes roasted (!) but the events were enjoyed by all in attendance. There was food, the YMCA Dancers, vendors, bouncy castles, and the local fire houses provided the man power and the water to make Andre Brook a beautiful route for the yellow rubber duckies to race. Folks young and old enjoyed the unusually warm day and fun activities, and hopefully the Y and the Rotary raised money for all that they do for the community.
Also, Warner Library had its semi-annual book sale on Saturday and Sunday, and there was a Hispanic Health Fair that was very well attended on Saturday at John Paulding School. The SHHS Football team sponsored a car wash at the HS.
Morse was the site of the gently used clothing and sports equipment sale. I did not attend, but imagine it was well received.
I sure hope you were able to enjoy our beautiful villages this past weekend. Perhaps you did some yard work and gardening! I sure did!!!

Earth Day thought
Thanks to Jan Maltby for the following:
Gaylord Nelson, the late Senator from Wisconsin and the founder of Earth Day once said.....
"Our goal is an environment of decency, quality and mutual respect for all human beings and all other creatures-an environment without ugliness, without poverty, without discrimination, without hunger and without war. Our goal is a decent environment in its deepest and broadest sense."
What more is there.......
