What a weekend!

Dear Friends,

The Foundation Dinner Dance on Saturday night still seems surreal to me... It was really humbling to be honored for what I do by people who do SO MUCH themselves!

I am in awe of all the people who sold ads for the beautiful journal, who wrote the wonderful pieces for the journal, who got all the great items for the auctions, who set up the silent auction, who played the music, who designed and made the gorgeous center pieces, who ran the live auction, who bought the items, who processed folks as they left the event, and who still have more work to do now that the magical night is over ... all to support the Foundation that gives to all our kids.

I thank you all for the kudos. I commend AYSO, Wolfpack, and TNT for all they do. I am SO proud of my kids, I can't stand it, and I'm thrilled that my parents and in-laws could be there with me. They were so proud of all of us!

We often wonder if the Dinner Dance is really worth it. There's got to be an EASIER way to raise money, right? But we always come back to the fact that there is something about getting so many people together to share in our pride for what happens in our schools every day. We see the art work displayed, and we hear the music of the HS Jazz Band. We hear the speeches and know that our money is important and being put to good use. AND, we get to get dressed up and have a good time.

Here's to another successful Dinner Dance.

Thanks to all,
Katharine

Thanks for all you do, it was a wonderful evening and thanks too for reminding me of Marge Piercy's beautifully eloquent words. The poem's taped to my monitor now so I can keep ready reference to that amazing last line :-)
