Slow Food USA, a national organization that advocates for food that is good, clean and fair, is organizing a National Eat-In on Labor Day, Sept. 7th. On that day, people in communities all across America will gather with their neighbors for public picnics, potlucks and barbecues that send a clear message: It’s time to provide real food at school for our children.
So join us, Slow Food Westchester, your friends, neighbors, politicians, and local leaders to promote – TIME FOR LUNCH.
We will provide appetizers, desserts and liquid refreshments on the lawn at theWashington Irving School in Tarrytown. There will be music, soccer, and games for the kids. Drop by for a half hour or two hours.
You do not have to have young kids to participate. The important thing is to show our legislators that we all care what kids in America are eating in their schools. It will be fun and a great way to start a new school year.
We look forward to seeing you on September 7th.
